AUGUST 24 2006 - iBook G4 & PowerBook G4 Battery Exchange Program 2006
Apple has determined that certain lithium-ion batteries containing cells manufactured by Sony Corporation of Japan pose a safety risk that may result in overheating under rare circumstances.
The affected batteries were sold worldwide from October 2003 through August 2006 for use
with the following notebook computers:
12-inch iBook G4
12-inch PowerBook G4
15-inch PowerBook G4
Apple is voluntarily recalling the affected batteries and has initiated a worldwide exchange program to provide eligible customers with a new replacement battery, free of charge. This program is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and other international safety authorities.
Please note that to exchange your battery you must visit Apple's Battery Exchange website. Do not bring your battery to us.

JULY 28 2006 - MacBook Pro 15" Battery Exchange Program
Apple has initiated a worldwide battery exchange program for certain rechargeable batteries that were sold for use with 15-inch MacBook Pro computer systems from February 2006 through May 2006.
Apple recently discovered that some 15-inch MacBook Pro batteries supplied to Apple do not meet their high standards for battery performance. To give their users the best experience possible, Apple will replace these batteries for customers free of charge.

MAY 20 2005 - iBook G4 & PowerBook G4 Battery Exchange Program 2005
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and
other international safety authorities, Apple is voluntarily recalling certain
lithium ion rechargeable batteries that were sold worldwide from October 2004
through May 2005 for use with the following notebook computers:
12-inch iBook G4
12-inch PowerBook G4
15-inch PowerBook G4
These batteries were manufactured by LG Chem, Ltd. of South Korea.
The affected batteries could overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Apple has received six consumer reports of these batteries overheating. If you have a recalled battery, please stop using it and order a replacement battery immediately. Once you have removed the battery, plug in the AC adapter to power the computer. If you must temporarily use your computer with the battery, do not leave it unattended and check for signs of overheating.

If you reach the bottom of the troubleshooting webpage and the issue has not been resolved then click on the link at the bottom of the troubleshooting webpage and complete the process to have your iPod sent in to Apple for service.
